Which Materials Are Our Frames Made Of?
NOT SIMPLE PLASTIC, RATHER THE BEST CELLULOSE ACETATE

People who buy or wear a pair of eyewear that is not made of metal, normally perceive the material as trivial plastic. In reality, the material that is used for high-quality frames is cellulose acetate, quite different from the common polymers used for everyday items.
Cellulose acetate is the only plastic material naturally sourced, made in cellulose extracted from cotton flakes and wood, reacting chemically with acetic anhydride and thus transformed in acetate. By mixing cellulose acetate with pigments it is possible create several colors, monochromatic or multicolor.
After a series of steps and curing times cellulose acetate is reduced to sheets of variable thickness, and thus cut to create frames. This is a resistant, flexible, non allergenic material, perfect to represent our style, both handmade and sophisticated
We have always used cellulose acetate produced by the best Italian handcraft factories like Mazzucchelli 1849 and Laes. We choose the trendiest and most interesting colors but we also like to find vintage sheets in unique texture, to create frames in limited edition, especially designed for our collectors
