The teme assigned for this year's edition by curator Cecilia Alemani is "The Milk of Dreams" inspired by the fairy tales book written by British surrealist artist Leonora Carrington. This choice stems from the desire to underline the dreamlike attitude to continuous metamorphosis that contemporary art shows today
Giardini and Arsenale - The Historical Pavilions.
The most representative venues will once again be the historical pavilions at the Giardini, where the buildings themselves tell the story of the Biennale since the first International Art Exhibition in Venice in 1895,
and the Arsenale, which, with its large spaces that perfectly fit the assembly of large-scale installations within a suggestive combination of water and stone.
